The art of office warfare: Driving tanks and dodging paint

At AE, we are used to navigating complex logistics, managing high-stakes timelines, and steering major projects to success. But recently, we decided to put our steering skills to a completely different test: navigating a multi-tonne FV432 military tank through the mud.
For our latest team day, the entire crew headed down to Armourgeddon for what can only be described as total, adrenaline-fueled chaos.
Gearing up and locking in
If you’ve never experienced tank paintballing before, it is exactly as intense as it sounds. After suiting up in authentic military gear and helmets, we were given a crash course in the anatomy of a tank before hitting the battle tracks.
The real teamwork came when the hatches were closed. Stripped of our normal view, we had to rely entirely on periscopes to navigate the terrain while working in tight three-person crews: one driving blind under the direction of the commander, one loading the ammo, and one operating the 40mm turret cannon.
Let's just say that communication skills - something we pride ourselves on daily in the office - takes on a whole new meaning when you are trying to outmanoeuvre your colleagues while firing giant paintballs through a muddy visor!
It was competitive, chaotic, and a brilliant reminder of how well our team pulls together under pressure.
