Full-service events and creative agency, AE, (Associate Events) was a finalist for the Best Sustainable Initiative at the C&IT* awards in London on Thursday 5 October 2023.
The C&IT awards are one of the most respected in the industry, recognising the best live, virtual and hybrid events in the MICE sector.
AE received the accolade for an exclusive event entitled “Driving Impact on Sustainability, Together” delivered in 2022 for Dell Technologies. This closed event, held in The College Garden at Westminster Abbey, highlighted that without flood defences the Abbey’s grounds could be underwater within eight years due to rising sea levels caused by the climate emergency.
Each part of the event space related to the theme, from 100% sustainably delivered catering with a vegan menu, to a décor of real trees which were subsequently replanted. Everything was logged and offset to make the event completely carbon neutral.
The guest list included decision makers from the tech sector who all committed to engage in further conversations around sustainability.

AE is based in Leicester with a national and international workload including COP, the MIPIM property conference in Cannes, for the Ministry of Defence and various corporate and independent clients.
Since relocating to its head office in Leicester over six years ago, it has continued to ‘buck the trend’ by growing its turnover, client base, services and team.
