Festive 2020 Newsletter

looking ahead

As we wind down to the end of an unprecedented year, the final quarter of 2020 has been incredibly busy for the Associate Events team! From coordinating and facilitating over 200 digital and a few safe, socially-distanced physical events of all shapes and sizes around the region, which reached around 180 million people, we are proud to achieve such great results whilst being in the middle of a pandemic.

We have been - safely - whizzing up and down the country, from London to Newcastle as we develop our venues venture further, offering a lifeline to our country’s greatest large events, music and conference spaces. If you’re interested in hearing more about how we can help your venue efficiently recover from the disaster this year has brought, please don’t hesitate to give us a call.

Our brilliant team has grown in size and knowledge as our newest #AETeam members firmly make their mark, and we continue to evolve with the times to demonstrate that we are an undeniably versatile, adaptable and multi-faceted agency operating nationwide!

Next year is set to be a transformative year for the agency, and we are all incredibly excited to start working on some of the interesting and inspired new projects already underway, which we look forward to sharing with all of you in 2021!

I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas, and a happy and safe new year, and looking forward to getting creative in the new year!

latest blog: the future of events in 2021

In our latest blog, we look towards the future and spot the upcoming event trends which we predict will make their way into the new year and beyond. Though we know the industry is always growing, some of the trends that were forecast to grow this year did so on an enormous level!

There’s been a huge demand for hybrid and digital events to replace physical interactions, due to Covid-19, and we wonder if this will stay the same when we go back to a new normal or have we missed large gatherings too much? Associate Events has certainly adapted to the new digital alternatives for events, and we have seen on both a small and large scale how effective these changes are!

Find out all the answers and more in our latest think-piece! Read it here now.

shifting our focus

Covid-19 put forward a huge opportunity for our clients to take full advantage of our digital event offering, so it was no surprise that in the second half of the year we reshifted our primary focus to deliver high-quality digital event productions. Our team worked tirelessly to ensure these events took off without a hitch, and that they did!

Each digital event we produced was successful, engaging and the production value was described as ‘film-worthy’ from those watching near and far - digitally, of course! We expect this event trend to stay with us into the new year, so if you’re looking for an events agency who can deliver top-notch digital event production then drop us an email and we can help!

how we've adapted

The pandemic undeniably affected the events industry, but more specifically it has severely hit the venues sector. By expanding and developing our new service offering, we are excited to now be working with Tier 1 unique venues, large scale music venues, members clubs and boutique hotels to change the way in which they operate whilst saving money, talent and experience.

It is our aim to do something good for the events industry, so that the good survive. This is about working openly and transparently with the market to disrupt the way that venues operate to ensure our great industry has the foundation to move forward more effectively in the years to come. There is a new era and a huge opportunity ahead for us all! If this sounds like something which your venue could benefit from, please get in touch with us for a chat about how we can help, by calling 0116 464 5995 | email hello@associate-events.com.

charitable contribution continue

We recognise how difficult this year has been for many businesses, in particular the education sector. That is why Associate Events has been consistently dedicated to lending a helping hand wherever possible, to ease the load for our amazing teachers, schools and other education providers. As the festive season is all about giving, we have decided to commit our efforts to two great schools in Leicester in helping to stage, set-up and produce the annual Nativity play - completely free of charge! Seeing the smiles on everyone, particularly the teachers and students who have worked so hard to persevere throughout the year, is the only compensation we are looking for, and we appreciate all of the efforts from these key workers during this strange and turbulent time.

This year we have been fortunate to be able to donate far and wide across the region as we continued our ongoing work with Menphys charity, as well as supporting the virtual Suits & Vinyl DJ set raising money for Bodie Hodges Foundation, Hope Against Cancer and Soft Touch Arts, which you can still donate to here. Earlier in the year, we also donated a total of 5 laptops to The LionHeart Academies Trust, to help provide the highest quality and access to education for children who were unable to attend school throughout the pandemic.

christmas closure

In order to give the team a very well-earned rest and allow them time to recharge their batteries for the new year, we will be closing the office slightly earlier this year on December 18th 2020 and re-opening on January 11th 2021.

We want to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your continued partnership through what has been a turbulent and challenging time for all. We wish all of our clients, partners and friends a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, and we can’t wait to get creative with you in 2021.
